A tight, finely honed piece of solid musicianship, while remaining true to the gloomy and grim heritage of Scandinavian style black metal, it is complimented by minimal use of atmospheric keyboards adding an ambient feel to the music. Occasional flutes pervade the mist of sound, as do baritone hymnal chants, as if the ghosts of a ship full of Vikings were singing along with these melancholy tunes.
